Description: Comedy Central is looking for fresh, new stand-up comedy that connects with the core television audience of people 18-34 with emphasis on strong and original joke writing, a well-developed and unique point of view, and a high level of comfort and professionalism on stage. In September, The Pittsburgh Improv will be on of the 26 participating CC: Certified Clubs that will hold preliminary showcases featuring their best local comics. One comedian from each of the preliminary showcases will be selected by the club to advance to the regional showcases in San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, and Ft. Lauderdale. (Major markets NYC, Hollywood, and Chicago will be holding 2 preliminary showcases to advance 2 people each.) After the club representatives have been identified, the Comedy Central Talent department will be screening each of the preliminary showcases and selecting additional “wildcard” comics to participate in the four regionals in October. Comedy Central will be on site to select the final 8 Comics to Watch from the 30+ comics attending the regional showcases. The 4th annual Comics To Watch show will take place on Wednesday, November 6th at Caroline’s as part of the New York Comedy Festival. The entire program will be promoted by Comedy Central on air, on-line, and on our Sirius XM radio channel. The final Comics To Watch show will stream on cc.com , broadcast on CC Radio, and fans will be driven to vote for a grand prize winner. All of our Comics to Watch receive cash, a trip to NYC, their performance on ccstandup.com, a CC: Stand-up profile for both the site and app, and more. The Grand Prize Winner will additionally be receiving a booking on a CC Stand-up series, CC Live campus tour date(s), digital release from Comedy Central Records, select dates at CC: Certified clubs and more.
